In the early of public education ,schoolteachers were not salaried and would often be paid in goods and services . Nowadays ,presenting an apple to the teacher is interpreted as a gesture of goodwill or as an element of bribery .The practice probably arose from the student desire to soften the teacher disposition ,thus in increasing the student chances for a more favorable grads . This custom has now given way to parental contributions of money ,food, or candy for the enhancement and enrichment of the basic classroom program.
در روزهای اولیه آموزش عمومی معلمان به مدارس حقوق ودستمزد نداشتند واغلب با کالاهاوخدمات دستمزد آنها پرداخت میشد .درحال حاضر دادن سیب به معتم به عنوان یک ژست حسن نیت یاباعنوان عنصررشوه برداشت میشود .این عمل احتمالا ناشی از تمایل دانشجویان برای احترام به مقام معتم است .درنتیجه شانس دانش آموزان را برای ارزیابی مطلوبتر افزایش میدهد. این رسم راهی را به خانواده ها از لحاظ کمکهای مالی وغذایی برای افزایش وغنی سازی برنامه ی کلاس پایه ارائه میدهد.
